Whether you suffer from stress, anxiety, nerves, a lack of confidence, phobia, insomnia or any other issue, you know it is something which you would like to change. Before arriving at this website you will probably have tried a number of different methods to resolve your issues. If we have an emotional, psychological or physical issue the eastern practice of acupuncture purports that the reason for these problems is a blockage in the flow of chi (energy) along meridian lines in the body. Release that blockage and the issue will improve or resolve itself too. Although this is not necessarily accepted in western ideas of how these problems can be released it is interesting to know that in some PCTs (Primary Care Trusts) acupuncture can be accessed via your doctor.

NHS recognises Acupuncture can be effective The NHS website says that there is some evidence that acupuncture can effectively treat, chronic back pain, dental pain, pain and discomfort during gastrointestinal endoscopy, headache, nausea, and vomiting after an operation, pain and discomfort during oocyte retrieval (a procedure used during IVF), osteoarthritis of the knee. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) for example, utilises the same principles of acupuncture (or acupressure) by via gently tapping acupuncture points on the body. No claims are made to its efficacy here or that any issue can be resolved using EFT. There is however a growing body of anecdotal evidence and studies that offer support to the idea that EFT can play a positive role with some of life's challenges.

Does evidence for EFT's efficacy exist too? There is some research that suggests EFT can play a role in helping with certain issues. Research has been conducted over a 14 year period with circa 29,000 patients. The conclusion of this study was that energy interventions can have a positive effect. Read more here
